HESLY’s Hexmesh range is defined as a unique hexagonal cellular mesh steel, made of flat bar which is designed to provide brilliant retention and reinforcement of thin wall refractories and fully complements dense hydraulic and chemically bonded refractories in resisting erosion. It acts as a surface framework to hold cement or refractory in position, and relieves stress in the lining’s upper crust, retarding erosion, corrosion, blistering and cracking.
The flexibility, high strength and erosion resistant characteristics of Hexmesh make it an excellent choice for refractory linings in furnaces, reactors, cyclones, ducts and flues.
Hexmesh provides long term protection for armor applications inside industrial floors. Specifically, loading docks, ramps, high traffic aisles for forklifts and trucks. Hot floors for foundries, forge shops and steel mills. Refuse and recycle disposal plant floors and almost anywhere floors are subject to severe impact and rolling loads. Hot gaseous substances cannot erode the refractory because they are reflected away from the surface by the metal honeycomb- shaped grid.
The flexibility of HESLY’s Hex Mesh allows it to be rolled, and easily conforms to circular shapes. It is recommended for use when placement is spaced from the steel shell to allow room for thick insulation between the metal shell and the armoured surface.

Hexsteel: Bonding Hole Type
Instead of lance tabs, holes are punched through the walls of the hexmetal cell. Refractory can then flow through these holes to achieve a bond from one cell to another.
Hex-metal: Pronges/Lances Type
this style has lance tabs protruding from the walls of the hexagonal cell to act as anchorage for the refractory.

Hex mesh is flexible and easily conforms to circular shapes, which allows it to be rolled. It is ideal for lining ducts, furnaces, reactor vessels, cyclones, flue gas lines and other high temperature equipment of virtually any shape or configuration.
Hex steel is put to use in many industries including power plants, chemical industry, cement plants, steel, petroleum, power generation and other large devices. Hex material can largely improve the heat erosion and abrasion resistance.
Stainless steel wire is selected for their wear-resisting, heat-resisting, acid-resisting and corrosion resisting characteristics. Many different grades of stainless are used in hex mesh. 304 is the most common, but other are used in specific applications to take advantage of each grade’s unique properties.
